Events & entertainment in Leicester and Leicestershire
With vibrant festivals, live gigs, contemporary theatre and unusual rural events, Leicestershire has lots to entertain you! Leicester itself boasts a wide range of venues for all types of entertainment. With live music at De Montfort Hall, films at the Phoenix and comedy at Jongleurs, there’s plenty to choose from! In the county, Loughborough Town Hall is a major arts and music venue, whilst Melton Mowbray, Market Harborough, Hinckley and Coalville all have their own theatres.
Festivals are a big feature of Leicestershire life too. Highlights of the year include the Leicester Comedy Festival, the bizarre Hallaton Bottle Kicking Contest; the Caribbean Carnival, the Battle of Bosworth Re-enactment and Leicester’s famous Diwali celebrations.
